The year is 2201. The Yamato has returned after a bloody fight with Emperor Zordar and the Comet Empire. Sanada, Aihara, and Shima are freed from the hospital and proceed to Okita's monument to pay their condolences to the slain crew members. They encounter Tokugawa's son Tasuke, who claims he will join the crew after he finishes cadet school. The following day, during his graduation, he capssizes a boat full of fresh cadets since they are all too focused on the Yamato to notice where they are going.
