Syaoran, a young archeologist, and Sakura, a princess from the Clow Kingdom, have been childhood friends since they were children. Sakura lost all of her memories on a fateful night as a consequence of a plot to get her talents. Syaoran seeks the aid of the witch Yuuko in order to retrieve her memories. Yuuko explains to Syaoran that he must journey from one other world to the next in order to gather shards of Sakura's memories. Sakura, on the other hand, will have no recall of Syaoran even if she regains her memories. Kurogane, a warrior banished from his homeland, and Fye, a mage seeking to flee his King, accompany them on their journey. They started off with the assistance of Mokona, a mystical creature.
