Shuu Tsukiyama is a "ghoul," a monster who feeds on human flesh, and he relishes every bite. Shuu's highly awaited first bite is disrupted by a bright flash of light one night, as he is enjoying in the deliberate murder of his food. The light is from high schooler Chie Hori's camera, which offers Shuu with the perfect photo catching his actual nature; the exceptionally clear shot of a gory body and an excessively enthusiastic Shuu threatens to reveal his ghoul identity, so Shuu must act immediately. When Shuu learns that Chie goes to the same high school as him and is even in the same class as him, the cause for his fixation shifts.
