Tokyo is now having rain showers, which appear to be disrupting the normal pace of everyone who lives there to no end. In the middle of this apparently endless deluge, Hodaka Morishima, a runaway high school student, comes, struggling to sustain himself and eventually landing a work at a small-time publisher. At the same time, Hina Amano, an orphan, is looking for work to support herself and her younger brother.
