Cless Alvein, a teenage swordsman, and Chester Barklight, a young archer, are tragically killed when they return to their hamlet of Totus to discover it destroyed by the mysterious Black Knight. The Black Knight aims to claim the power of the Demon King, Dhaos, which has been sealed away by Cless' forefathers and a young priest named Mint Adnade in order to take over the world. The reawakening of Dhaos portends not just the end of the Black Knight, but also the end of the world. Cless and Mint must now travel a century into the past in order to gather friends capable of finally defeating the Demon King.
