In Japan, drugs have become a source of conflict, and drug-related crime has been expanding at an alarming rate. In order to contain the pandemonium, the police department decided to form a squad called STAND, which would feature unique, specialized specialists and professionals who would be better equipped to deal with the crisis. Rei Izumi is a new recruit to the drugs investigative squad who has been given the difficult duty of recruiting prospective STAND representatives. Rei was recommended for her moral sense of justice and commitment to police work, but she also possesses a unique quality that may have helped her land the job: she is immune to many, if not all, types of narcotics.
