Chihiro Ogino, a ten-year-old who is stubborn, spoilt, and naive, is less than delighted when she and her parents find an abandoned amusement park on their route to their new home. As she cautiously enters, she discovers that there is more to this location than meets the eye, as odd things begin to happen as darkness approaches. Chihiro has unintentionally stepped over into the spirit realm, as shown by ghostly apparitions and food that turns her parents into pigs. With the assistance of the enigmatic Haku and the cast of fascinating personalities she meets along the journey, she must muster the bravery to live and work among the spirits.
