Fumihiko Matsumaru, a marketing employee, is ready to throw away his movie tickets after being turned down for a date when he is stopped by a female who begs him to let her accompany him instead. Fumihiko loves his evening thanks to his lively and wacky partner Aka Onda, an aspiring voice actor. They discover they reside in the same area while walking home together. Only a few hours later, Fumihiko awakens from a nightmare to the sound of sirens outside his window. When he goes outside to check on the matter, he discovers that Aka's flat has burnt down, along with all of her belongings. Fumihiko asks the distraught Aka to stay at his house, and the two end up sleeping together.
