The Fourth Great Ninja War has been over for two years. Konohagakure has been peaceful and harmonious—until Sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake sees the moon is dangerously close to Earth, posing the possibility of planetary destruction. During the tribulation, the Konoha is besieged by a new villain, Toneri Oosutuski, who kidnaps Hinata Hyuuga's younger sister Hanabi. Kakashi sends a trained ninja squad comprising of Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Shikamaru Nara, Sai, and Hinata to rescue Hanabi from Toneri's clutches. During their quest, however, the squad encounters a number of challenges that thwart their attempts.
