Daizaburo Edi-Ban, a Japanese-American, joins the 34th Precinct in New York City. On his first day, he is teamed with John Estes, nicknamed Sleepy by his friends and Mad Bull by his foes, a cop who uses his own harsh brand of justice to combat crime.
