The plot takes place during Japan's Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period) and revolves around Furuta Sasuke, a subordinate of the famous warlord Oda Nobunaga who is preoccupied with tea ceremony and material pursuits in his quest of a fortunate life. Furuta follows the Hyouge Mono path, having learnt it from Oda and the great tea master Sen no Soueki.
