Following an uprising in the United States and a subsequent global nuclear war, humanity was decimated by a catastrophe known as "The Maelström" in 2019. To preserve humanity, the World Health Organization (WHO) gradually assimilated worldwide political power and completely redefined society: people are now considered public resources and are guaranteed a happier life. The advancement of medicine, nanomachine technology, and augmented reality all contribute to this increased attention to human health. Miach Mihie, a high school girl suffocated by Japanese society's excessive friendliness, chooses to challenge the cultural principles she views degrading before the health implant surveillance system WatchMe activates itself on the day she turns 18. Miach intends to commit suicide alongside two of her pals, Tuan Kirie and Cian Reikadou.
