Much of mankind was dead at the turn of the century, having been trodden on by a new lord, Godzilla. A small group of humans set out into space aboard a spaceship named the Aratrum in quest of "the promised land," the planet Tau-e, which might support human existence. However, the migration plan fails, and the human race's remnants opt to return to Earth. However, because to the distortions in space-time and the distance traveled, humans will return to an entirely different Earth some 20,000 years later. The returnees, commanded by hero Haruo, prepare to face Godzilla using a scheme that has been in the works for 20 years. Executed with the assistance of two extraterrestrial species the Exif and the Bilusaludo, the humans succeed in defeating Godzilla in a costly battle to the death.
