Mafuyu Satou goes out of his gloomy apartment, gripping his Gibson guitar tightly, to begin another day of high school. While napping in a peaceful location on the gymnasium stairway, he runs across fellow student Ritsuka Uenoyama, who chastises him for allowing his guitar's strings to rust and break. Satou begs Uenoyama to mend the instrument and teach him how to play after noticing his understanding of it. Uenoyama ultimately accepts and invites him to join his two bandmates, bassist Haruki Nakayama and drummer Akihiko Kaji, for a jam session. Satou's voice is stunningly lovely, and Uenoyama is determined to become Satou the band's lead vocalist. Satou, however hesitant at first, eventually accepts the offer after an emotional meeting with an old friend.
