Following the defeat of a formidable foe, Gokuu Son and his companions dwell peacefully on Earth. Meanwhile, in space, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his lengthy slumber, having dreamed of a Super Saiyan God. Beerus searches for this formidable person with the assistance of his aide, Whis, since he aspires to battle a worthy opponent. After finding that the Saiyan home world has been destroyed, he hunts out the last Saiyans on Earth, notably Gokuu. Gokuu and his friends summon Shen Long the Eternal Dragon, who they discover is scared of Beerus, despite having only heard of the Super Saiyan God in stories. After discovering the Super Saiyan God's secret, an epic battle between Gokuu and Vegeta ensues.
