Piccolo is exercising on a desolate cliff when he is attacked and defeated by a swarm of strange opponents. These same opponents then travel to Mount Paozu to take Gohan Son's "Dragon Ball," where they not only fight Gokuu Son's spouse and father-in-law, Chi-Chi and Gyumao, respectively, but also capture Gohan. Gokuu hurries home, sensing something is wrong, only to find Chi-Chi laying on the ground, explaining the incident. He then heads to Kame House and borrows the Dragon Radar in order to find the Dragon Balls, as well as the enemy and Gohan.
