On Planet Vegeta, home of the fabled Saiyan warrior species, King Vegeta discovered a newborn named Broly whose latent might surpassed that of his own son 41 years before. The king sends Broly to the lonely planet Vampa, believing that his son, Vegeta, would one day exceed Broly's might. Broly's father, Paragus, pursues him, determined to save his son. However, his ship is wrecked, trapping the two on the barren world for years, ignorant of the deliverance that would one day come from an unlikely friend. Years later, on Earth, Gokuu Son and Prince Vegeta—thought to be the sole Saiyan survivors—are busy training on a lonely island. However, their sparring is cut short upon the appearance of their old enemy Frieza drives them to search for the last of the wish-granting Dragon Balls on a frozen continent.
