Two men have just arrived in Quindecim and have no recollection of how they got there. They are met instantly by a young woman who leads them to a little pub where a bartender awaits them. They are told that they must engage in a game that will be picked at random by roulette and that they will be unable to leave until it is completed; if they refuse, the repercussions will be grave. In addition to the game regulations, the two men are instructed to play as though their lives were on the line. Billiards has been picked as the game. But there's more to it than just collecting pool balls, as the two are about to discover.
