Mina Tepes, the Queen of all vampires, discloses the existence of her species to the world on live television and announces her plan to create the Vampire Bund, a vampire refuge in Japan. They have agreed to let her establish this safe-haven for her fellow animals of the night using her family's fortune to pay off the nation's debt. However, not everyone is readily convinced by Mina's power, as her statement causes friction with humans who feel the queen's quest for peace is a ruse. Akira Kaburagi does not believe in vampires and seems nervous anytime the subject is brought up, but he is unsure why. Apart from a head accident a year ago, he lives happily ever after.
