Another day, another bounty—such is the life of the Bebop's sometimes unfortunate crew. This pattern is disrupted, however, when Faye, who is hunting a rather useless target on Mars, observes an oil tanker explode, sparking enormous pandemonium. As the number of casualties rises as a weird sickness spreads through the smoke from the explosion, a three hundred million woolong bounty is set on the head of the alleged culprit. With lives on the line and a solution to their financial woes in sight, the Bebop team goes into action. Spike, Jet, Faye, and Edward, closely followed by Ein, break off to explore various leads across Alba City. They uncover a cover-up conspiracy involving a pharmaceutical corporation as a result of their respective investigations, uncovering a plot that reaches much further than the ragtag team of bounty hunters could have realized.
