Rhonda, a woman with a dark past and a mysterious power, is pursued by an unknown assailant after her father's death in Children of Ether. Rhonda travels through a decaying, dystopian metropolis populated by raiders, gangs, and the supernatural, aided only by her wits and a pair of orphans. As she struggles to survive in this harsh urban tangle, she meets both friends and foes, and she seeks answers about this power, "The Ether," that has awakened within her.
