Arato Endou and his devoted hIE, Lacia, have joined forces once more to demonstrate to the world that artificial intelligence, no matter how bright, can be securely turned off. As they descend inside the detention facility to meet Higgins, Lacia's AI inventor, the couple must fight opponents from every angle. Snowdrop, a rampaging hIE hellbent on consuming Higgins, and Methode, a vengeful hIE seeking vengeance on Lacia, are two of them. The world's super-intelligent AIs unanimously resolve to kill Lacia, whom they consider a menace to mankind. Will Arato and Lacia be able to actually join together in a civilization where humans and hIEs may cohabit peacefully with limited time and odds stacked against them?
